We believe in education the whole child and allow plenty of time to nurture creative and artistic skills. Through the day, children will have opportunities to dance, design, compose, move, and sing. Along with classroom teachers, specialists in Art, Music (both Jewish and General) and Physical Education instruct children in rhythmic activities and fitness, healthy living, interactive listening and expressive music, and the organizational practices of design, as well as the expressive qualities of the visual arts.
We are devoted to the idea of exploring our environment and acquainting ourselves with the sights, smells and culture of our surrounding community. Throughout the year, we take walks around the neighborhood; visit local museums, synagogues, libraries and the lakefront; and attend plays and symphonies. We learn from our community and invite people who live and work around us into our classrooms. We believe there is tremendous value in connecting to the larger community and encourage our students to take care of each other and the world.
